KIT CORNER!

Exercise, Motivation No Comments

There’s no such thing as bad weather either hot or cold), just bad kit! Yes, I know you have heard me say it a million times but it’s true.

All hard core bootcampers have at least one piece of kit which made bootcamp fun rather that fearsome!

I know we’ve only had one shower (and it is still August) but so that we’re good and prepped for the Autumn skies – we’ve started a discussion on the forum for you to add your ‘can’t bootcamp without it’ bit of kit FOR ALL SEASONS.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Family Fitness Running Throughout August!

Uncategorized, lifestyle No Comments

Whilst Darcey’s attendence at 6:45am bootcamp this week was somewhat out of the ordinary, the 0930am sessions in Acton Park are now commonly filled with as many children as adults as we give Mum’s a chance to continue their exercise even when the children are not at school!

Family fitness allows you to bring your children along to bootcamp as long as they are over the age of 4 and you are with them. (You can’t pop to the shops!)

They can then play with other children while you get your exercise in.

No Excuses now!

We are doing a Singles Bootcamp! Grab your best single friend and send him or her our way on 12 September 2010 for a run around and lunch.

In preparation, we would like to know from current bootcampers what they think the most ‘bonding’ games are in bootcamp?! Please let us know.

Thanks!

We hope you'll come in Speedos like that chap!

Good Luck Millie!

Exercise, Motivation, Uncategorized No Comments

On 11th July, UV Bootcamper and associate Nutritionist, Millie Barrett, will be taking part in the British 10km.
I think you will agree that Millie’s story is truly amazing and that her cause is one that I am sure is close to the hearts of many of us…
Millie’s Story:
I took up running a few years ago but this is my first proper run – and I am very nervous! When I broke my back in 1996 by flying out of the back of a pick-up truck in Colombia I did not think I would ever be running a mile, let alone 10K. With bootcamps and some extra running training I am feeling almost ready, and hoping the energy and vibe on the day will get me to the end. I am raising money for Myeloma UK, the charity working to support victims of this particular type of bone marrow cancer that my dad died from last year.  It is not a very common type of cancer and there is still loads more research needed in order to develop new (and better) drugs and support patients. I would love it if you could sponsor me, although I have already reached my target I would love to raise a bit more.  Thank you and please send me good stamina vibes on 11th July!
